General Information

What is OrganDonorLink?

OrganDonorLink (ODL) is a digital healthcare coordination platform designed to connect people in need of organ transplants with potential organ donors while assisting with the medical matching process.

The platform improves coordination between recipients, donors, hospitals, and healthcare professionals, making the transplant journey more organized and transparent.

Who can register?

The platform welcomes:

  • Organ Recipients – Patients in need of life-saving organ transplants
  • Potential Organ Donors – Individuals willing to donate organs
  • Healthcare Professionals – Medical staff involved in transplant care
  • Medical Institutions – Hospitals and transplant centers

Is registration free?

Yes. Registration is completely free for both recipients and donors. OrganDonorLink believes that saving lives should not come with a financial burden at the registration stage.

Medical Matching

Why do recipients pay a medical coordination fee?

Finding a medically compatible donor often requires evaluating multiple potential donors. Several compatibility tests may need to be performed before identifying the closest compatible match.

Recipients contribute only a partial medical coordination fee to help facilitate this process.

  • The fee is NOT payment for an organ.
  • The fee contributes toward compatibility testing, medical coordination, laboratory evaluations, documentation review, and communication with healthcare providers.
  • The amount varies depending on the organ type and required medical evaluations.

Do donors pay any fees?

No. Potential donors are not required to pay any fees during registration or participation in the donor matching process.

Why does the coordination fee vary?

Different organs require different medical evaluations, specialist consultations, laboratory tests, and compatibility assessments.

Therefore, the medical coordination fee varies depending on the type of organ involved and the complexity of the required medical evaluations.

Does paying the coordination fee guarantee that I will receive an organ?

No. Successful transplantation depends on many medical factors including:

  • Blood group compatibility
  • Tissue compatibility
  • Crossmatch results
  • Overall health of both recipient and donor
  • Medical evaluations and assessments
  • Donor availability

Therefore, no guarantee can ever be made that an organ will be found or that a transplant will be successful.

Medical Testing

Why are multiple donors sometimes evaluated?

Many potential donors may not be medically compatible with a specific recipient.

To maximize the chances of identifying the closest compatible donor, several individuals may require medical evaluation before the most suitable match is identified.

What medical tests are commonly performed?

Common medical tests include:

  • Blood Group (ABO) – Determines blood type compatibility
  • Tissue Typing (HLA) – Evaluates tissue compatibility
  • Crossmatch Test – Checks for donor-recipient compatibility
  • Kidney Function Tests – Assesses kidney health
  • Liver Function Tests – Evaluates liver health
  • Infectious Disease Screening – Checks for communicable diseases
  • Complete Blood Count – Evaluates overall blood health
  • Medical Imaging – Assesses organ structure and condition
  • Other specialist assessments as required

All testing is performed only by qualified healthcare professionals.

Medical Services

Does OrganDonorLink perform transplant surgeries?

No. OrganDonorLink does not perform surgeries or medical procedures.

Medical decisions and transplant surgeries are carried out exclusively by licensed hospitals and qualified healthcare professionals.

Privacy & Documents

Is my medical information secure?

Yes. OrganDonorLink takes reasonable measures to protect users' personal and medical information.

Can I update my medical records?

Yes. Users may update their profiles and upload new medical documents whenever necessary.

Yes. Users may withdraw from the platform at any time.

However, medical coordination costs already incurred may not be refundable.

Matching Process

How long does it take to find a compatible donor?

There is no guaranteed timeline.

The process depends on:

  • The specific organ required
  • Medical compatibility factors
  • Donor availability
  • Healthcare evaluation timelines
  • Laboratory results and testing

Account Responsibility

Why must I provide accurate information?

Both recipients and donors are required to provide truthful, complete, and accurate information.

This helps:

  • Improve compatibility matching
  • Reduce unnecessary testing
  • Speed up evaluations
  • Improve communication with healthcare providers
  • Protect the safety of everyone involved

⚠️ False or misleading information may delay the process or lead to suspension or removal of an account.

📋 Declaration

"By registering with OrganDonorLink, I confirm that all information and documents I provide are accurate, truthful, and complete to the best of my knowledge. I understand that providing false or misleading information may delay the matching process, affect my eligibility, or result in the suspension or termination of my account."

⚠️ Important Notice
